About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Manager to join our team in Seaforth, ON, on a full-time basis. 

The successful candidate will play a lead role in designing and verifying the suitability of new products as well as updating existing products. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the production control system, technical publications (Operators and Parts Manuals), and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Utilize technical and organizational skills, along with practical knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes, to develop and maintain systems supporting production operations
  • Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
  • Ensure compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating convenience
  • Monitor, audit, and ensure compliance of Standard Operating Procedures with regulatory requirements, in conjunction with supervisors
  • Lead and manage all employees in the Engineering department, including assigning duties, supervising, and providing guidance, training, and coaching as required
  • Participate in functional and safety audits of operations
  • Manage projects with attention to schedule, capacity planning, and other project deliverables
  • Oversee the design of new products

More About You

In order to qualify for this position, you will have 12+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a Professional Engineer designation and post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering. 

The following qualifications or skills would be strong assets for this position: 

  • Good general knowledge of manufacturing processes in a metal fabrication environment
  • Proficient in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) design
  • Experience with FEA Analysis
  • Ability to create assemblies, designs, BOMs, etc. using SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and assembly
  • Preferred experience in the design and/or manufacturing of heavy/mobile/construction equipment, with an understanding of engines, hydraulics, and basic electronics
